Body Lift

The human body is three dimensional, and in many cases it’s not possible to achieve desired results with ‘two dimensional’ surgeries like abdominoplasty that only target a specific area on the front of the torso. When issues with loose skin, flabbiness or excess fat deposits extend all around the circumference of the body, on the front, back and sides, as well as the abdomen, thighs and buttocks, the only way to target and fix all of these is with a body lift procedure.

These issues are particularly common in women following pregnancy, or anyone who’s recently lost a lot of weight but now suffers from excessively loose or folding skin, but can also be the result of natural aging effects, genetics, skin conditions or countless other factors. Generally speaking, a body lift is for anyone who’s looking for overall tightening, slimming and visual anti-aging effects on the front, back and sides.

Is a Body Lift Worth It?

Only you can answer this question. Whether or not a body lift is worth it depends on what you hope to accomplish, and how much discomfort and recovery time is feasible for you. It’s important to be aware of the fact that body lifts are a much more extensive procedure than smaller and more targeted operations, and anyone who tries to downplay its intensity probably isn’t being entirely honest with you. At Australia Cosmetic Clinics, our surgeons will always be entirely clear and up-front with you. As such, we cannot promise that a body lift is your best option without an initial consultation session. What we can say, however, is that all of our past patients who opted for this procedure have reported overwhelmingly high levels of satisfaction and have been universally thrilled with the results.
As medical experts, we feel it’s important that you’re aware it’s an intense procedure. Recovery time varies, but is almost always at least 6 weeks. Conducted under general anaesthetic, the operation itself takes 6 to 8 hours. The upside is that it always achieves longer lasting, more complete and far more dramatic results. At the end of the day, the only way to decide whether or not it’s worth it is to have a consultation session.

The Different Types of Body Lift

Lower Body Lift:
A combination of thigh and buttock lift, abdominoplasty and tummy tuck. This variation removes excess skin and fat, but also actively tightens the stomach muscle walls. Our lower body lifts utilise a tissue network called the superficial fascia suspension system that runs through the abdomen. By manually improving suspension of this system, we can more effectively raise the actual musculature of your body rather than simply removing tissue like in less intense operations.

Central Body Lift:
Also called a belt lipectomy, this procedure is great for removing circumferential excess tissue that runs across the all sides of the torso. This is best thought of as a tummy tuck that also fixes your sides and back.

These are just two of the more standard variations. Body lifts also encompass a number of operations done concurrently. For example, a combination thighlift, tummy tuck and brachioplasty could be referred to as a body lift.
