The first step is an initial consultation session. This is a chance for you to tell us exactly how you’d like your body to look, and for us to show you exactly what’s possible. The operation itself is relatively straightforward and minimally invasive. It only requires local anaesthesia and you’ll be able to walk out afterwards, and capable of returning to work after only 1-3 days.
After the anaesthetist has gotten things started, your surgeon will make one to four small incisions, each one about 2-3mm long. The exact number will depend on the precise requirements of your body contouring procedure. A micro-cannula, only 1mm in diameter, will be inserted into these incisions and moved back and forth across the problem areas, delivering a combination of anaesthetic and tumescent fluid. This will numb the area, restrict bleeding, prevent excessive swelling and break down fat cells so they’ll flow away more easily.
With the area prepped like this, it’s time for the surgeon to swap cannulas and go to work. They’ll now insert specialised suction cannulas and remove the lingering fat cells, paying special attention to areas around the abdominal musculature, clearly defining the linea alba and tendinous intersections. Once they’re finished, each incision can be neatly shut with a single stitch.
Thanks to the local anaesthetic, you won’t feel a thing for the first 6-8 hours after surgery. By the time it wears off you’ll have been prescribed ongoing pain medication that will see you through the entirety of the brief recovery period.
If you’ve stopped seeing gains from working out but would still like better muscle definition, abdominal etching can help. If you’ve lost a lot of weight but just can’t seem to shake off the belly flab, various body toning procedure can finish the job. If you’re in good health and want an athletic look to reflect it, abdominal etching can make it happen.
Without a consultation session, it’s not possible for us to say with certainty that abdominal etching is right for you. But generally, if you’re looking for better muscle definition and exercise can’t make it happen, it’s a great choice. In our experience, many patients tend to underestimate what it can do and end up being very pleasantly surprised.
